Original Abstract Expressionist Painting

Acrylic/Mixed-Media Assemblage on Board

16hx48w inches

Ready to Hang

Voyager-Abstract Mixed-Media Assemblage on Board pays homage to the City of Detroit's vibrant industrial heyday. The piece is part of the Remnant Series and is comprised of found objects from various parts of the city that are used to "build" or "assemble" a work of art. Various printed words are used to create a tableau of sorts along with attached pieces of metal that were discarded  in abandoned locations such as railroad tracks and vacant fields.

Voyager-Abstract Mixed-Media Assemblage takes the viewer on a trip through the past and is a testament of the determination and the resilience of a city and its people to remain relevant and continue on in the face of adversity.

Voyager was featured in the "Visions of Detroit" exhibit that was held at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit, MI in February 2020.
